Each of the ten planned coins in the series features a stylized version of one heraldic Queen’s Beasts statues present at the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II representing her royal ancestry. The silver coin is notable as the first two-ounce United Kingdom silver bullion coin.

The first of the 10 planned coins in the series is the Lion of England. It has a diameter of 38.61 millimeters and a thickness of 6.00 millimeters. The coin has a gross weight of 62.42 grams and a silver purity of .9999. It has a milled edge. The obverse of the coin features Jody Clark’s effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen faces the right profile of the coin, wearing her coronation crown. The portrait of her majesty s surrounded by “ELIZABETH II • D • G • REG • F • D • 5 POUNDS •” which is inscribed along the rim of the coin from the top-right, clockwise, to the top of the coin. DG REG FD is an abbreviation of the Latin “Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defensor”, which means: By the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith. The initials of Jody Clark, “JC”, appear just below the portrait.

The reverse of the Silver Queen’s Beast coin features a stylised rendition of the beast, the lion. The loin is standing slightly tilted supporting itself with a shield. It is roaring facing up with one of its paws, the right one, lifted. On the left side of the coin, the name of the beast and size of the coin are inscribed- “LION OF ENGLAND • 2 OZ”- from the bottom-left to the top-left of the coin. The silver purity and year of mintage of the coin are engraved on the right side of the coin- “FINE SILVER • 9999 • 2016”- from the top-right to the bottom-right. Jody Clark’s initials are below the shield on the right side.
