The first issue of the Canadian Palladium Maple Leaf coin was minted in 2005 by the Royal Canadian Mint. These popular bullion products which remain popular to this day are struck in almost 100 percent pure palladium. Like all bullion products made by the Royal Canadian Mint, the Maple Leaf coin bears a hallmark of superior quality and value. Its content and purity are guaranteed by the Government of Canada. While Palladium as a metal adds an intricate balance to any precious metal collection, its rarity maintains value over time.

The Royal Canadian Mint is a crown corporation that has minted all of the country’s palladium bullion coins since 1908. And has acquired global recognition for minting excellence. Today, their superior technical capabilities enable it to set new benchmarks in palladium coin designs and circulation. Their palladium coins were first issued in November 2005 and the Palladium Maple Leaf is the first palladium product minted by the RCM. Guaranteed by the Government for purity, weight and face value, the Palladium Maple is recognized legal tender in the country and is worth 50 Canadian Dollars. Moreover, the Maple Leaf is struck in pure .9995 fine Palladium.

The Canadian Palladium Maple Leaf features:

  • The portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, created by S. Blunt, features prominently on the coin’s obverse
  • Maple Leaf design closely associated with the country’s nationalism and pride.
  • With a stunning design and depiction of the Maple leaf, the coin packs value as a numismatic and investment item. Today, collectors can invest in this extremely rare coin.
  • While Palladium bullion coins aren’t new to the market, this $50 Canadian Maple Leaf is the world’s first regularly issued Palladium bullion coin.

You may need protective storage to hold your valuable investment if you’re buying a 2015 1 oz Palladium Maple Leaf with enhanced security features, or a Random Year 1 oz Palladium Maple Leaf. Since Palladium is a rare precious metal, ensuring your coins are safe should come as a priority.
