The commonest of all the Spirit Bear coins is the 1 kilogram 250 dollars coin. The coin has a diameter of 102.1 millimeters. The coin has a serrated edge and a silver purity of 99.99% with a beautiful proof finish. Designed by Susanna Blunt, the obverse of the coin portrays the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen faces the left side of the coin. She has curly hair at the edges and a beaded necklace around her neck. The name “ELIZABETH II” is engraved at the left side of the coin, from the bottom to the top. On the right side of the coin, the inscription “D ∙ G∙ REGINA” runs from top to bottom. The texts on the obverse translate to: Elizabeth II By the Grace of God, Queen. the face value of the coin, “250 DOLLARS”, is at the top of the coin, curving to the right side. The year of mintage, for example “2016”, is at the bottom-center of the coin. The initials “SB” on the Queen’s right shoulder stand for the designer’s name.

The reverse of the Canadian Silver Spirit Bear coin, designed by Canadian Artist Glen Loates, features a detailed portrait of the white-furred black bear known as the Kermode bear or spirit bear of British Columbia’s coast. The bear’s face dominates the entire reverse field of the coin, its intense eyes taking center stage staring forward. The bear’s dark nose and mouth, dense fur and stunning brown eyes are given dimensional detail using various engraving and shading techniques. The eyes make an even greater impact with the application of amber-toned enamel irises and black pupils. The text “CANADA” is inscribed at the bottom of the coin. The initials “GL” for the designer are engraved on the bottom-left side of the coin.

The Royal Canadian Mint established on 2nd January 1908, produced the coin. Traders, collectors and investors of the coin can buy Canadian Silver Spirit Bear coins online exempt from sales tax or VAT making them a popular choice for all types of investor.
