The reverse of the coin shows a rooster with its beak open, surrounded by ten Marsh Daisies (sea-thrift) which represent the tenth animal in the Lunar Cycle. The number ten is also thought to symbolize perfection in Chinese culture. The rooster faces the right side of the coin. The Chinese character for rooster, “鸡”, above the rooster, at the top side of the coin. The text “YEAR OF THE ROOSTER” is inscribed on the left side of the coin; from the bottom-left to the top of the coin. The year of coinage, “2017”, is engraved at the top of the coin. The size of the coin and the silver purity of the coin are inscribed at the top of the coin respectively- “1 OZ FINE SILVER 999”- curving to the top-right side of the coin.
